Our Roots
The Energie® brand was founded in 1987 by John Smith in Los Angeles, California. As a longtime fan of fashion with an eye for quality craftsmanship, John saw an opportunity to create well-made yet affordable clothing.
He started by designing basic t-shirts and jeans in a small factory outside LA. The clothes combined laidback California style with innovative details and flattering fits. Word quickly spread about these comfortable, fashionable basics. Within a few years, Energie® expanded into a full contemporary clothing line for young men and women.

Our Evolution
In the 90s, Energie® became known for its innovative denim. Our perfect fitting jeans combined vintage and modern washes for a totally unique look. By the late 90s, we had expanded into a full lifestyle clothing brand.
Moving into the 2000s, we translated contemporary trends into flattering, casual staples. Our growing categories included tops, dresses, skirts, outerwear, and accessories. In the 2010s, we focused on sustainably-made, eco-friendly fabrics and production methods.
Today, Energie® offers stylish clothing for the whole family. Our women’s, men’s, and kids’ lines cover all the basics along with dresses, outerwear, loungewear, and more. We remain deeply committed to our California roots while evolving for the modern customer.

From basic tees to cardigans and hoodies, our knits strike the perfect balance of stretch and structure. We use smooth cotton, modal, and rayon blends in lightweight to mid-weight fabrics. They drape beautifully while holding their shape wear after wear.
Wovens
Energie® woven fabrics have a soft, fluid drape that flatters all figures. Our sheers, satins, and linens channel effortless California style. We use natural fibers like cotton, lyocell, and rayon for breathability and comfort.
Activewear
Our activewear pairs performance with energetic style. Technical moisture-wicking fabrics in bold prints keep you comfy in the studio and beyond. We use four-way stretch materials that allow free movement during any workout.

From fabric sourcing to sewing, Energie® clothing is carefully crafted to the highest standards.
Sustainable Fabrics
We source eco-friendly, responsibly-made textiles whenever possible. Many of our fabrics are OEKO-TEX certified free of harmful chemicals. We also use organic cotton, recycled polyester, and other sustainably sourced materials.
Ethical Production
The majority of Energie® garments are sewn in our own Los Angeles factories. We pride ourselves on providing safe, positive working environments and fair wages. Some accessories and activewear are ethically produced in select factories abroad.
